This is one of several beverage recipes which are basically water flavoured with seeds. Very easy to prepare and a lovely refreshing beverage with health benefits too. As the author explains:
“Flax seeds are a natural laxative. You can drink this daily for your health. Mix the powder with hot water and sweeten it with a little bit of honey. Have it before bedtime for it also has relaxing qualities.”
2 cups flax seeds
honey or brown sugar to taste.
Roast flax seeds over low heat for 10 minutes. The seeds will pop, so be sure to keep them covered.
When popping stops, your seeds are roasted. Do not let them burn.
Let cool for 1 minute.
Grind flax seeds to a fine powder using a coffee grinder.
Store powder in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
To use:measure 2 Tbsp. flax powder with honey or brown sugar into a fancy glass.
Top with spring water and serve.
